Dr. Zaid Sekito is an Assistant Lecturer of History in the Department of History, Archaeology & Heritage Studies. He holds a PhD in History of terrorism (2021), M.A in History & B.A Education, all from Makerere University. Zaid is the current Coordinator of Graduate Studies, College of Humanities & Social Sciences (CHUSS) Makerere University. He is also one of the Convener of the Bi-Monthly CHUSS seminar series. Zaid is an Alumus of Gerda-Henkel Stiftung Foundation PhD Fellowship (2017), and Next-Gen SSRC Dissertation completion (2020). His areas of interest are; terrorism, trans border conflicts, Violent extremism, Conflictology, violent extremism, Religious fundamentalism, and Human Rights. He is an Early Career Researcher under the SCaRPE-A Project.
